Continental Utility Solutions, Inc. (CUSI), a national leader in utility management software and technology services, is currently seeking a Virtual Desktop Specialist in Jonesboro, Arkansas, with a focus on deploying, managing, and monitoring our virtual desktop infrastructure within Azure. The ideal candidate will have a Windows systems administration background with a firm grasp on virtualization and looking to improve on this skillset while making the shift to the cloud.
What your day-to-day will consist of:
- Provisioning and configuring virtual desktop resources within Azure, either for internal use or customer facing multi-tenant environments. (Virtual machines and disks, virtual networks, storage accounts and containers, recovery services vaults, host pools, scaling plans, network security groups, etc.)
- Monitoring cloud environment metrics and proactively make recommendations on sizing needs and adjustments.
- Utilizing Azure DevOps Pipelines to deploy turn-key customer virtual desktop environments.
- Work with Tech Support Tier 1 and 2 staff as needed to troubleshoot performance issues relating to cloud infrastructure and the virtual desktop client.
- Azure AD and AD DS object management.
- Server 2019/2022/Core/Azure Edition administration.
- Windows 10/11 administration.
- Create technical documentation for cloud inventory and configuration.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of virtualization concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting skillset; thoroughly understand the issues at hand and how to isolate, reproduce, test, etc.
- Effective communicator.
- Security conscious mindset with all resource management and deployments.
- Experience with Azure Active Directory and Active Directory Domain Services.
- Experience with administrating server operating systems. (Server 2019/2022/Core/Azure Edition)
- Experience with provisioning and troubleshooting virtual machines and storage within a hypervisor or cloud platform.
- Experience with Azure PowerShell and/or Azure CLI.
- Surface-level knowledge of networking and basic troubleshooting (TCP/IP, IP address space and subnetting, route tables, etc.)
- Trainable and forward-thinking; willing to change and adapt to evolving cloud teams’ needs and processes as we continue to leverage Azure’s latest cloud services.
